Jalen Hurts announced Wednesday he will be transferring to the University of Oklahoma.

"Now I’m Bama for LIFE — and that right there will never change! But now it’s also time for me to start a new chapter in my story. I’ve decided to take my talents to the University of Oklahoma, where I will continue my development as both a quarterback and as a student," Hurts wrote in The Players Tribune.

Hurts entered into the NCAA transfer portal last week after compiling a 26-2 record during his time as a starter at Alabama. QB Tua Tagovailoa unseated Hurts as the starter entering the 2018 season.

Hurts graduated from Alabama in December and is eligible to play immediately for Oklahoma, who lost Heisman trophy winning QB Kyler Murray to the NFL draft.
